ingredients 

225g plain flour

225g wholemeal flour 

50g wheat bran 

50g porridge oats

2 level tspn of bicarbonate soda 

1 tb of brown sugar (optional)

1 egg 

600ml buttermilk 

1 tb sunflower oil 

method 

combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. in a jug beat the egg, add oil & buttermilk.add wet ingredients to dry & give a good mix. POUR mixture in to a lined bread tin. sprinkle additional porridge oats over the mixture.pop in to a preheated oven at 200c for 15mins then reduce heat to 180c  & bake for a further 30 mins.cool on a wire tray.
